Adopt a Kitten for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day. You either love it, or you hate it.

Regardless of how you feel about this day, why not make 2017 the year you turn it on its head and make it one of THE most unforgettable days EVER?!?

Instead of roses, chocolates and other perishable things that nobody really needs (okay, we didn’t mean that – what would life be without flowers and sweet things?!) – why not spend a little extra money this year on an adorable floofy little creature who will love you FURREVER!?!

Love sucks

Boyfriends and girlfriends come and go. Love is complicated and it fluctuates. From our experience, however, we are here to tell you that – while your cat may experience mixed feelings from time to time (hey, they’re cats! You know how they like to play hard-to-get) – there is nothing like the love you will have for this little animal! (Ok, when you have a kid you MIGHT love them as much as you love your cat!) 😉

This Valentine’s Day, do something different. Add a new furry member to your family, and experience the True Love of a cat.

In our quest to encourage and support you in this endeavor, here are some tips on…

How to Love Your Cat

  1. They Set the Rules

You may hold the title of ‘owner’ or ‘master’, but anyone who owns a cat will tell you that there is a silent understanding that exists between man and feline. You’re a figurehead; the cat sets the rules for your relationship. Pay attention and follow Snowball’s lead. Basically, just be cool.

  1. Don’t Smother Them With Love – Let Them Breathe

Think of loving a cat like holding liquid mercury in your palm: if your hand is open and relaxed, the mercury will sit calmly in the middle of your hand. If you squeeze too tight, it’ll leak out and spill. In the case of a cat, if you squeeze it too tight…well, let’s just say mercury is probably a healthier option.*

*Kids, please don’t hold mercury in your hand.

  1. Treat Them Like Gold and You’re Golden

Nature VS Nurture is an age-old debate when it comes to raising a loving, well-behaved cat. Whatever you believe about the inherent traits your cat has, there is little doubt that how you treat your cat from early on makes a huge difference to their temperament later in life. Be gentle with your cat; give it plenty of love and attention and it will love you furrever and ever.
